Question: Why is my cat such a bitch to me suddenly?

So last week I was going away for a business trip to Toronto, and I didn't want to pay the $10 to have the neighbor kid watch my cat, so I put the cat in a cardboard box (24" x 36".) Don't worry, I poked some holes. I did this so he wouldn't shit around the house. He has bad bladder control and I have to hold him above his litter box when he goes. So anyways, after I got back 3 and a bit days later I opened the box and he immediately clawed me in the face! I was like wtf? I give him a home, and sometimes feed him. Why does he think it is ok to claw me, his master, in the face?!! Now he just sits in the corner shitting himself all day and never moving? If anyone knows much about cats this would be very helpful. Thanks

Answer: 1: Your cat is PISSED at YOU b/c you left him in a BOX! #2: This is considered cruelty, if anyone knows who you are they could report you to the Humane Society and have him taken from you. #3: If you are going to keep him and have to go on another trip, either take him with you or find someone who will keep him for you, or at least check on him to feed and water him. There are lots of pet boarders who will treat him like a spoiled child while you are gone. #4: Give him LOTS of love to try to get him over this situation. It may take time, but eventually he'll come around. But until then he needs to know how much you care about him so he can learn to trust you again.
