Home Based Business Sale

Question: I would like general infomation about home based employment and business. What have you got for me ? No scams.
I am doing a research project for a client who is interested in working from home. She is very open to new ideas, but doesn't want to deal with wading through all the scams in order to find one good opportunity. Here is what I have done so far:
-checked the SBA website
-checked Home Based Business Laws
-looked on a few websites for actual work from home job openings
She is open to both Home Based Business and actual home employment. She is looking to make 400-500 dollars a month. Her special skills include lots of handiwork and a wide range of job experience. I will give anybody who is just using this to make a sales pitch a bad rating.
Answer: First of all, she needs to think about what she enjoys doing. For instance, i do what I'm doing 1) I want to be healthy 2) i get to share things with my friends and love ones and 3) I can give back to my community.
So, what is she good at? If she likes to meet people and is good at speaking in front of crowds she may like to market products but first she has to try the products in order for her to market them to other people. I hope this makes sense.
Just a few things to consider.
Good luck to her.

Home Based Business Ideas That Work

Question: Any good home based businesses that actually work and don't cost a fortune to start?
I want to do a Home Based Business. I would prefer one that is below $30 or even free! I want actual Home Business Ideas...not this survey stuff or surfing things, so please NO information on survey/surfing things! I want ideas for things i can do that actually generates some money. I am not looking to be a Millionaire or anything but I am looking for a good Home Business that can bring in good money. Thanks!
Answer: You can start your own business through Direct Sales making a percentage of what you sell however not sure what business you can start with only $30 maybe Avon. Remember with any business you have business expenses and overhead but these things are also tax advantages. I started my business with Mary Kay it is one of the highest paying Direct Sales companies I work less then 10 hours a week because that's what works for me and my family there are no sales quotas no territories and no parties to submit you work your business in the way that fits you life. You buy directly from the company for wholesale and sell to the customer for retail just as any store owner would do making the same amount of commission as a new consultant as a top national sales director no levels to earn.

Home Based Business For Sale

Question: Should I claim a loss on my home-based business?
For the past 3 years, I have been a consultant selling spa products via spa parties. The first two years resulted in a loss (after deductions). I have documentation that support my claims (mileage, business cards, website, catalogs, etc.). My concern is that I have read that if you claim a loss for 3/5 years, then the IRS can consider the business a hobby-business. 2006 would have been my 3rd year, and while I had some sales, they were very low as I became pregnant and didn't actively sell. I am still on active status for the company as I ordered products for my personal use, for which no money was made. My main question is, do I have to drop as a consultant from this company in order for it to seem as though I end this home-based business? . Or do I just claim the months I actively sold products?
Answer: You operate under a misconception about the rules by, in effect, reading them backwards. The rules essentially say that if you show a net profit after a certain number of years then you are presumed to be operating a legitimate, for profit business. This does not mean that if you don't show a profit you are presumed to be running a "sham" or hobby business.
If you do all the things businesses do (register with the state, get an EIN from the Feds, local business license, business bank accounts, file business returns, make efforts to sell your product, etc. etc.) then you can establish that you are a for profit business and your losses will be accepted regardless of how long they last.
If the above were not true then capitalists would not invest their money in start-up business.
