Home Business Software Mac

Question: Pro Tools 8 vs. Vista Home Premium: HELP!?
Hello!
I'm looking to get myself a new computer and Pro Tools 8 (M-Powered).
What's really going on with Pro Tools and Windows Vista Home Premium? Are they seriously NOT compatible with each other? I find it hard to believe that Pro Tools works with Vista Business and Ultimate but not Home Premium (which is what all most all new PCs are sold with)... the DigiDesign website doesn't explain much about this matter and most people I have talked to are as confused as I am.
Has anyone found a solution to this Vista thing? Is there some kind of software to purchase that makes Pro Tools work on Vista Home Premium? If not, does anyone have any computers to suggest that ARE compatible with Pro Tools 8? I considered getting a Mac, but they're out of my price range (I'm looking at a $750 budget).
I feel like I'm missing something...
Thanks so much!
Answer: Heyy there
you should be very grateful, as i actually created a yahoo ID so i could answer your very question!!
Listen up matee... i dont mean this cheeky, but if you read carefully on the digidesign website, you will see that, although it does not actually specify whether Pro Tools 8 (M-Powered) works with Windows Vista Home Premium, it DOES say there are "No known Issues"
Basically digidesign have just not TESTED Pro Tools 8 on Home Premium yet, but it still works, I'm Currently running Pro Tools 8 (LE) on an Acer Aspire Laptop, with Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)
and i have yet to come across a problem! You don't need any other programs or anything to make it work!! just a legitimate copy of Pro Tools 8
So seriously, don't worry about it, just chill man!! IT WORKS
lol ok??
I can see overall where you are actually coming from though..
For boasting themselves as "The Industry Leader in Digital Audio and Live Sound" they're attempts to cater for ALL Operating Systems is appalling! As home basic and home premium are the most common operating systems on a newly bought computer or laptop, they SHOULD have been tested by digidesign, its quite pathetic..
So for an answer to your question! it works!! ![]()
and for buying your computer i recommend Acer
works great with Pro Tools!!
Let me know how it turns out, hope i could be of SOME assistance lol !!

Home Business Tax Deductions Canada

Question: How can a home-based business owner hire affordable help?
I'm a home-based business owner and I also work full-time for my night shift job. Because of my schedule, I need to hire a couple of part-time people to help with administrative tasks. I've had many inquiries from people but they want to be paid cash (under the table). However I don't want to get in trouble with Revenue Canada because of not taking the tax deductions off. But I don't know how to calculate payroll deductions. Any suggestions from anyone? My family and friends don't live nearby and they aren't able to help me.
Answer: you could write them a check in their name, get them to sign it, pay them in cash and keep the check and deposit it yourself.
This way it shows the taxes and your doing nothing wrong

Question: Started insurance agency in Kentucky - need ideas...?
I opened an independent insurance agency in Kentucky recently. I hired a licensed producer to help me solicit auto, home & life insurance. I also hired a tele-marketer to call leads for new business.
With a limited budget, how could I attract more people to call us for free insurance quotes? We represent the biggest and best insurance companies for auto, home and life insurance.
Our rates are crazy-competitive for Kentucky residents...we just need to find a way (despite the cold weather) to get people to call or email us for free quotes.
We are legally able to quote insurance for any resident in Kentucky. We will have a website up and running in the next few months...as soon as we find someone to help us create a solid site.
As for advertising, we haven't started any system yet. We know our stuff when it comes to insurance...just need ideas to grow our client base quickly.
Thanks for any ideas...
Answer: There's a pretty good book out there about marketing (in general) titled "Guerilla Marketing" by Jay Conrad Levinson or How to Drive Your Competition Crazy by Guy Kawasaki.
Both are pretty good and give you some pretty good ideas.
Call 1-800-WEINSURE. Ask for Patrick or Dick and tell them you want to check on their program. Pretty slick and it WILL make your phone ring.
Next - network. Join the Chamber, get out and about and everyone gets a business card.
Try your local "want ad papers" like Thrifty Nickel or whatever. Run some ads in "the readers" - not display ads. CHEAP CAR INSURANCE and your phone number.
Join your agent association in your area - either PIA or Big I and go to conventions or insurance Expos. Even go to events in other States. I have been going to the Insurance Expo in Atlanta for the past 10-12 years and ALWAYS come back with SOMETHING!
Give everyone of your customers several of your cards. Write THEIR name on the back and have them give them to their friends and have their friends come to your office for for quotes. When they come in with the card, put the card in a box and every quarter, give away a color TV or something nice. Take pictures of you giving the winner the remote control, hang the picture somewhere prominent and do the same thing over again.
I could go on and on - so, email me direct and I can do what I can to give yo usome more pointers.
