Home Based Business Food

Question: Making and selling food from home how do you go about it?
On behalf of a friend:
Who completed a two year long course in cookery and wants to use it as the basis for a Home Based Business. The kitchen is a standard household one. Is it likely to be viewed as suitable by the environmental health dept. ? What changes might have to be made? Will two fridges, for example, have to be bought? Thank you!
Answer: The conditions imposed are very strict, not only will you need separate fridges, your walls and floors should be free from cracks, all surfaces have to be non-porous, light fittings have to be the closed type, no pets or plants, separate hand washing facilities to name but a few. You will also need public liability insurance.
