Question: Bolens riding mower blade replacement?
I have a Bolens 20 hp riding mower mower with a 42" inch cut. There are 2 blades under the deck and one of the blades somehow got broken in half and the other has never been changed. I figured I would just go ahead and replace both so I called our local mower shop and they said that bolens had went out of business and that I would have to get the blades from a MTD dealer. My question is would I really have to get the blades from a MTD dealer. I was under the impression that mower blades were universal and could be bought by the blade length. Could I just take one of the blades to Home Depot or Lowes and match it up there instead of trying to find a MTD dealer.
