Question: what's happening with a mans work apparel these days?
Today I walked into my new job (better Company name and a little more money on the base salary even though bonuses make the bulk of income) at an investment bank with what I think is the typical finance/business apparel. I came in wearing a nice Armani suit with a shirt and tie, nice pair of Hugo Boss shoes, Tiffany's cuff links, a nice watch, some leather gloves. Maybe they just looked at me funny bc I'm young? No idea, that's how my dad used to go into work when I lived at home. Most guys are just wearing Armani and Dolce suits. Maybe the gloves and cuff links over did it? Or maybe i'm just exaggerating, but everyone gave me a look like I was some stuck-up asshole
Answer: Stop being so fashion conscious. The reaction of your co-workers to your attire is far less important than the reaction of your supervisor to the quality of your work performance. That is the only thing upon which you should focus. Leave fashion obsession to womenfolk. The only men who should be concerned or upset about the clothing they are required to wear to work are those who play professional basketball.
