Home Business Matching Service

home business matching service
Question: What legal information do I need for my startup business?

I am starting an online service to match those in need of residential services with the contractors who actually do the work. The service is free for the homeowners in need of service, and the leads that go to the contractors are charged at 5-10 dollars per lead. The website consist of a form where the user enters personal information about their home and their project requirements. I do have an SSL certificate in place on my server to protect peoples' personal information.

What legal documentation is necessary for a business like the one described above?

Answer: You will need to file with your state to collect sales tax on in-state sales and get a "doing business as" certificate. If you want to incorporate you will have to take care of that, but it is not necessary or important right now.

Question: To all who believe in the Bible: Your take on the Prosperity Doctrine?

To all Jews and Christians of any stripe. No sect or individual who accepts some translation of the Bible is outcast on this one.
:^)

Please consider this the working definition of the Prosperity Doctrine (scripture is cited):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosperity_Doctrine

Now consider this example*:

Donate a monetary contribution to my ministry. God will reward you materially; i.e., you will get a new job, a raise, an increase in business, sell your home, etc.

Scripturally sound? Valid doctrine?

Or self-serving to my ministry?

Thanks! Pile on.

* Just an example. I don't have a ministry!

Answer: I am not a believer in the Bible and I find the prosperity doctrine a very strong argument against organized Christianity.

The hypocrisy of Christians who pick and choose which parts of the Bible they are going to live by and then tell me how to live my life just makes me sick. I think I live a more Christ-like life than many of these self-proclaimed Christians.

Let me cite some scripture (words spoken by Christ in the Bible):
Matthew 19:21 (King James Version)
21Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Mark 10:21 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
21Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

Luke 12:32-34 (New International Version)

32"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
